Learn simple sketches for your business

I'll teach a group of entrepreneurs to do illustrations for their business on the iPad, in the ConceptsApp. You can also other digital devices - or draw along on paper.

The outcome is simple:

You'll learn to do sketches that help you sell your service

  • Create engaging illustrations for your workshops and business presentations
  • Have fun on social media with authentic, expressive illustrations that show your personality and humor.
  • Sketch strategies and solutions when you work with clients
  • Create visual frameworks! Get clarity by organizing your ideas and communicate them easily to your audience.
  • Sketch with confidence on a whiteboard for teaching and presentations
  • Infuse your business with fun and creativity!

I'm always blown away by how FAST people can improve their drawing when given the right instructions. It may take just 10 minutes to transform your drawing game from "This is embarrassing" to "Hey, I actually love this little figure that I created".

Communicate your message - visually kl

What we do

After the 3 hours, you'll have a grasp on the technical and artistic skills you have always dreamed of

To do that, we'll solve the 3 biggest problems that stop otherwise creative people from sketching:

  • Mindset: They think they aren’t good enough
  • Skills: They don't know which technique and style to use
  • Relevance: They don’t think drawing can help their business

First we must move away from the idea that drawing has to be "art". Drawing is communication!

In school, we learned to write, not to draw. You don't need talent; you need the right instructions.

And to relax!

To change your mindset

  • I'll show you some tricks to achieve amazing drawings from the start, even if you "can't draw". Actually, your drawing will be more original this way! This will give you a boost of creative confidence and help you to finally overcome the limiting "im not an artist" thoughts. (And imagine what else this will do for your personal growth!)
  • We move fast so that you won't have time for overthinking. When you're having fun, perfectionism won't have a chance.
  • You’ll get a nudge to share what you do. You can upload your sketches to a workshop pinboard. You get immediate feedback from me, and you get inspired and learn from the other participants. It is fun!

The result? You'll see drawing and yourself as a creator differently - lighter, having fun, and much more confident.

The second problem we'll solve is that you don't know which technique to use

It is hard to do illustrations when you have to decide what style to draw, at which level of detail, which colors to choose, etc. It all seems to be very complex.

I teach a simple step-by-step system for visual storytelling. You can adapt it to your needs. It leaves you plenty of space for your own personality - butyou can always lean on this system.

  • First, I will show you my technique which is easy to use and makes even your stickmen look good! I recommend the Concepts app on the iPad, but you can adapt and use it on any drawing app.
  • Then, I will teach you how to draw expressive faces and figures.
  • Finally, I show you how to add text, useful symbols, accessories and background elements. Add some speech bubbles, and you have a set of illustrations ready!

With these tricks and tools under your belt, you can draw illustrations on the fly.

'

The third big problem is that you don’t prioritize your creative interest because you don’t see the relevance for your business

But, maybe you need to think again. It changed my life and business when I discovered that drawing can be easy AND USEFUL.  For creative spirits, sketching isn't a luxury but a necessity.

  • I always tie it back to how everything can be applied for business: Business model diagrams, customer before-after, social media posts.
  • Fast: We do a super-focused 3-hour intensive. It doesn't take longer to get you up and running. I have tested this with countless in-person and online workshops.
  • Business relevance: I have A LOT of experience to point you in the direction that will give you the biggest win and help you communicate your message.

The result

You start integrating more personality and humanity into your business.

Sketching will differentiate your brand from others. It will get you more attention, and more sales. While also giving yourself a legitimate reason to be a kid with your iPad and get paid for drawing stick figures!

This is the first illustration Crash Course in this format. I know it works, and now I want to get the proof for it. Learning to draw in 3 hours is possible.

The reason is that I want to see personal, imperfect, fun illustrations on social media instead of glossy AI images. I know it is better for you, and better for the world.

Questions and Answers

Question: I would love to participate, but I’m at work and don’t have time at the time of the workshop

Answer: You also get a lot out of watching the recording. You can still upload your drawings, and I'll give you (video) feedback. It will take a bit longer than when we do it live because it is asynchronous.

  • my Simple illustration self-study course, with short and easy-to-consume modules
  • AND the Drawing-on-the-iPad self-study course. You can ask questions in the course comments when you're stuck

You get a lot of value in this package, also if you can't participate. But .... maybe you could juggle your working schedule a bit and join us live? That would be most fun!

Question: I don’t have an iPad. What kind of iPad should I buy?

Answer: I recommend any iPad with an Apple Pencil. It doesn’t have to be big, new, or Pro.

Question: Can I use my Android tablet?

Answer: Yes. You can even use ConceptsApp for Android. It is not exactly the same as on the iPad, but close enough.

Question: I don’t have any digital device

Answer: You can draw on paper. - Drawing is drawing. Just be prepared that I’ll explain how to draw digitally.

  • I'll send you a prep-minicourse with detailed instructions to set you up with a list of what gear and what apps I use (free and paid)

Why learn from me?

Hi, I'm Ingrid Lill -  communication designer turned visual thinking enthusiast.

I have drawn all my life, but for the longest time, I didn't dare to use my drawings professionally.

Like many other entrepreneurs, I thought I had to focus on my bottom line, not fun drawings. Boy, was I wrong!

It changed my life when I discovered that drawing doesn't have to be "art" and that it can be easy AND USEFUL. I learned how to use simple sketches to gain clarity for my clients.

It brought more creativity, fun, and beauty to my business, and I'm making way more money than "before the pencil".

With my background as a communication designer and brand strategist I can help my clients tell their brand story - with or without illustrations.

But now I am on a mission to show that for creative spirits, sketching isn't a luxury but a necessity.

So... Take up that pencil already!
